Exclude specific Splunk servers from distributed searches

If you want to exclude certain Splunk servers from distributed searches (also referred to as blacklisting), add a comma-delimited list of servers to etc/modules/distributedSearch/config.xml in the <blacklist> section:


blacklistNames =
blacklistURLs =

where blacklistNames are the names you have defined in Splunk for your distributed search servers, and blacklistURLs are full URL paths to your distributed search servers.


Important:This configuration will not be propagated automatically when you upgrade to versions later than 3.1.x.
