Disable update checker

Splunk Web is configured to check for new versions of itself and display a banner. If you are running Splunk on a LAN that is not connected to the rest of the Web, you will want to modify web.conf to disable this feature.

To disable update checker, add the following line to the [settings] stanza in your web.conf file:

updateCheckerBaseURL = 0

Note: web.conf is located in $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/bundles/local.

This documentation applies to the following versions of Splunk: 3.2.3 , 3.2.4 , 3.2.5 , 3.2.6 View the Article History for its revisions.
