$SPLUNK_HOME\bin\splunk start
where $SPLUNK_HOME is your Splunk installation directory. Follow the prompts to accept the license and choose a port.
To start Splunk via the Services Manager on Windows, open the Service Manager (Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services) and start the splunkd service.
Note: Splunk can run as any user on your local system. Make sure to run Splunk with a user that has permissions to the data you want to use.
See Start Splunk for the first time in the Installation manual for more information about starting Splunk.
