Search monitoring and prioritization

Splunk's Search app now provides several dashboards that help administrators diagnose search activity on their Splunk instance. These dashboards display metrics for both scheduled and non-scheduled searches including common and expensive searches, CPU usage, search usage by user, and user interface activity.

Additionally, users can now indicate higher priority for specific scheduled searches.

From Splunk Web, launch the Search app and navigate to Status > Search Activity and view the status dashboards available there.

This documentation applies to the following versions of Splunk: 4.1 , 4.1.1 , 4.1.2 , 4.1.3 , 4.1.4 , 4.1.5 , 4.1.6 , 4.1.7 , 4.1.8 View the Article History for its revisions.
