American English spelling and phrases

Write in American English. The dictionary of choice for Splunk documentation is Merriam-Webster, so consult that dictionary if you question your spelling.

Avoid abbreviations, spelling, loanwords, and phrases taken from other languages, such as i.e., colour, in lieu of, and full stop, in your documentation. See the Usage dictionary for acceptable terms to use instead.
