license entitlement

noun

The amount of data your Splunk installation is entitled to index each day, across your entire Splunk deployment. Your entitlement can be one single license on a single Splunk instance, or broken up into multiple licenses on multiple instances. For example, the license entitlement for Splunk Free entitles you to index 500MB of data a day on a single Splunk instance. If you purchase a Splunk Enterprise license, your entitlement may be higher.
