view template
noun
Provides the structure and layout to the dashboards and views you build. In the advanced view XML, there are two types of view templates: dashboard and search. In the simplified view XML, there are two types as well: dashboard and form. When you begin your view using XML, you should first specify the view template type. Then, as you build your view, you'll use layout panels or panel types specific to that view template type.
