Install the Splunk App for AR

Set up and administrate your Splunk AR mobile app deployment, associate data with real-world objects, edit augmented reality workspaces, manage user permissions, and more with the Splunk App for AR. See Get started with Splunk AR to learn more about deploying Splunk AR in your workforce.

The Splunk App for AR requires Splunk Secure Gateway on your Splunk Platform. Functionalities pertaining to Splunk AR that previously existed in Splunk Cloud Gateway have migrated to the Splunk App for AR. If you're using Splunk Cloud Gateway and migrating to Splunk Secure Gateway, see Migrate from Splunk Cloud Gateway to Splunk Secure Gateway.

If you're migrating from Splunk Cloud Gateway to Splunk Secure Gateway, you must have Splunk Cloud Gateway installed when switching to Splunk Secure Gateway and the Splunk App for AR. If you don't have Splunk Cloud Gateway installed when upgrading, you'll lose all assets, asset groups, workspaces, geofences, beacons, and permission settings.

Prerequisites

To use the Splunk App for AR, complete the following steps:

  1. Make sure your Splunk platform instance uses the Python 3 interpreter by default. See Python 3 migration with the Splunk platform to learn more about setting the default Python interpreter.
  2. Get Splunk Secure Gateway. See Get Splunk Secure Gateway.
