Configure IPV6 extractions for the Splunk Add-on for Cisco ASA

In the Splunk Add-on for Cisco ASA 3.4.0, extractions related to IPV6 are disabled by default. To enable IPV6 extractions, follow these steps:

  • For the cisco:asa sourcetype, to enable the IPV6 extractions, copy these lines from default/props.conf to local/props.conf and uncomment them:
    <code>REPORT-local_addr_port_for_cisco_asa_ipv6 = cisco_local_addr_port_ipv6</code><br>
    <code>REPORT-foreign_addr_port_for_cisco_asa_ipv6 = cisco_foreign_addr_port_ipv6</code><br>
    <code>REPORT-src_dest_for_cisco_asa_ipv6 = cisco_source_ipv6, cisco_destination_ipv6, cisco_src_ipv6, cisco_dest_ipv6,cisco_translated_source_ipv6,cisco_translated_destination_ipv6, cisco_public_addr_port_ipv6
    
  • For the cisco:pix sourcetype, copy these extractions from default/props.conf to local/props.conf and uncomment them:
    <code>REPORT-local_addr_port_for_cisco_pix_ipv6 = cisco_local_addr_port_ipv6</code><br>
    <code>REPORT-foreign_addr_port_for_cisco_pix_ipv6 = cisco_foreign_addr_port_ipv6</code><br>
    <code>REPORT-src_dest_for_cisco_pix_ipv6 = cisco_source_ipv6, cisco_destination_ipv6, cisco_src_ipv6, cisco_dest_ipv6, cisco_translated_source_ipv6,cisco_translated_destination_ipv6, cisco_public_addr_port_ipv6
  • For the cisco:fwsm sourcetype, copy these extractions from default/props.conf to local/props.conf and uncomment them:
    <code>REPORT-local_addr_port_for_cisco_fwsm_ipv6 = cisco_local_addr_port_ipv6</code><br>
    <code>REPORT-foreign_addr_port_for_cisco_fwsm_ipv6 = cisco_foreign_addr_port_ipv6</code><br>
    <code>REPORT-src_dest_for_cisco_fwsm_ipv6 = cisco_source_ipv6, cisco_destination_ipv6, cisco_src_ipv6, cisco_dest_ipv6, cisco_translated_source_ipv6, cisco_translated_destination_ipv6, cisco_public_addr_port_ipv6
