Announcing the End of Life (EOL) and End of Support (EOS) for the Splunk App for CEF. As of July 30, 2021, the Splunk App for CEF is EOL and no longer available on Splunkbase. Customers who have already been using the Splunk App for CEF will continue to receive support until the EOS date of April 2, 2022.

New features for the Splunk App for CEF

The Splunk App for CEF 2.3.0 includes the following new features:

  • Various configuration files are explicitly set to python.version = python3. Others are optional python.version = {default|python|python2|python3}.

For information about Python 3, see Python with Splunk Enterprise Security in the Python 3 Migration manual.

The Splunk App for CEF is compatible with Splunk Enterprise versions 7.2 and later. Splunk Enterprise does not provide a means of downgrading to previous versions. If you need to revert to an older Splunk release, uninstall the upgraded version and reinstall the version you want.
