Register or unregister a device with Splunk Cloud Gateway

Register a mobile device or Apple TV with Splunk Cloud Gateway to use the Connected Experiences apps. There isn't a limit to how many devices can be registered per deployment. However, Splunk Cloud Gateway supports up to 25 simultaneous user requests per deployment. More than 25 simultaneous requests might cause performance issues.

Splunk Cloud Gateway supports local LDAP authentication. Splunk Cloud Gateway does not support SAML authentication.

Register a device

Any user with the cloudgateway role can register a device. You do not need the admin role to register a device. Devices with a Connected Experiences app installed have a registration code in the app.

Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Log in to Splunk Cloud Gateway.
  2. On the Register tab in Splunk Cloud Gateway, enter the 10-digit code provided by the mobile device or Apple TV.
  3. Name the device.
  4. Click Register.
  5. Ensure that the confirmation code matches the confirmation code on the device.
  6. Log in with your Splunk Enterprise credentials to complete registration.

Unregister a device

You can unregister a device in Splunk Cloud Gateway or in the app on the device.

Here's how to unregister a device in Splunk Cloud Gateway.

  1. Select the Devices tab in Splunk Cloud Gateway.
  2. Next to device you want to remove, click Remove.
  3. Click Remove.

Here's how to unregister a device in a Connected Experiences mobile app.

  2. Select Unregister this device.
