New features in Splunk IT Service Intelligence

Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) version 4.10.0 was released on August 13, 2021. It has the following new and changed features.

Service Analyzer

New feature or enhancement Description
Service health score update When a KPI is split per entity, you can disable the impact of the entity health score on the overall service health score. For more information, see Impact of per-entity thresholds on service health scores.
Split KPI searches by multiple entity fields KPIs that are split per entity can now be split by multiple fields using the Entity Split Fields field. You can specify up to 3 fields. At this time, this is only supported for KPIs created from ad hoc or shared base searches.

Event Analytics

New feature or enhancement Description
Hide summary dashboard on Episode Review page The summary dashboard on the Episode Review page is hidden by default when you share an episode. You can view the summary dashboard by clicking the Show Dashboard button on the page.
Episode Review enhancements The following enhancements were made to the Episode Review page:
  • You'll now be prompted to confirm further changes to episodes that have been recently edited or updated to ensure accurate episode status, and prevent unintended episode updates
  • Use the AND, OR, and NOT clauses when searching for episodes using the search filter. For more information, see Accelerate triage with filters and sorting.
  • When you share a link to an episode via the Share episode action, the showsummarydashboard query parameter is set to false and the Episode Review summary dashboard is hidden by default.
Remedy action A new Remedy Incident Integration using REST API action has been added to the Episode Review page. For more information, see Integrate ITSI with BMC Remedy.

Glass Table Editor

New feature or enhancement Description
Classic glass table migration All classic glass tables will be automatically migrated to the new glass table framework upon upgrade, and you will no longer be able to create classic glass tables.

Entity Integrations

New feature or enhancement Description
View alert severity You can now view the number of alerts associated with an entity type on the Infrastructure Overview and Entity Health pages. A new Severity Filter is also added to the page to filter the alerts by severity.
Filter by entity type, vital metric, or entity name Additional filters have been added to the Infrastructure Overview page, allowing you to filter by an entity's name, entity type, or specific vital metric.
Add custom dashboards to entity types You can now add your custom simple XML dashboards to entity types, and view this dashboard with specified entity parameters on the Entity Health page. For more information, see Add Splunk dashboards to your entity type.
Configure vital metrics alerts per entity You can now configure vital metrics alerts for specific entities using the Dimension is filter added to the Vital Metrics dropdown menu. Only the entities specified in the filter will trigger vital metric alerts. For more information, see Configure vital metric alerts.
Grouping by entity types default setting On the Infrastructure Overview landing page, entities are now grouped by entity type by default.
