New features in Splunk IT Service Intelligence

These release notes apply to Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) version 4.4.2. Version 4.4.2 offers fixes to previously known issues. For more information, see Fixed issues in Splunk IT Service Intelligence.

New features

New feature or enhancement Description
Entity rules merge with existing rules If you bulk import services that already exist in your environment and link them to a service template, and the template requires you to specify a column to complete the entity rules, the rules you set are merged with the service's existing entity rules. For more information, see Bulk import services in ITSI.
Notable event and episode metadata retention limit increased The default value of the retentionObjectCount setting in $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/SA-ITOA/default/itsi_notable_event_retention.conf changed from 50000 to 500000 to prevent active episodes from being archived. For more information, see Manage notable events in ITSI.
Improved Service Analyzer performance The performance of the Service Analyzer has been improved to support thousands of services with minimal load times.
