Use the Content Pack for Shared IT Infrastructure Components

After you configure the Content Pack for Shared IT Infrastructure Components, you're ready to use the views and dashboards included with the content pack.

Prerequisites

Before you start using the Content Pack for Shared IT Infrastructure Components, complete the steps described in Configure the Content Pack for Shared IT Infrastructure Components.

Shared IT Infrastructure health score

After you install and configure the Content Pack for Shared IT Infrastructure Components, you have a service called Shared IT Infrastructure that monitors across the siloed stacks in the chief information officer (CIO) organization. Any other services can reference this health score, allowing business application stacks to tie to the shared IT services as a dependency.

For more information about health scores, see How service health scores are calculated in the Service Insights manual.

Glass table

The IT Infrastructure Health glass table is a CIO-level view of service health. It's an at-a-glance view of the current state across all stacks of the IT environment.

Edit the glass table to remove any services you deleted. Add services or KPIs as needed.

When creating future glass tables, add a widget called Shared IT Services when appropriate and include a drilldown to this glass table to aid in future troubleshooting.

For more information about glass tables, see Overview of the beta glass table editor in ITSI in the Service Insights manual.

Service Analyzer

This content pack includes a saved service analyzer view called IT Infrastructure. Use this service analyzer in a network operations center (NOC) environment to view the health of the shared IT infrastructure over time. Switch to the tree view to see a real-time view of the shared IT services and all of their dependencies.

For more information about the Service Analyzer, see Overview of the Service Analyzer in ITSI in the Service Insights manual.
