Configure an add-on to add data in Splunk Light

Add-ons extend the capabilities of Splunk Light. You can install and enable add-ons to configure new data inputs from the Add-Ons view. For example, you can enable the Splunk Add-on for Unix and Linux from the Add-Ons view. When you enable and set up the add-on, click Objects to view the data inputs, field extractions, and other knowledge objects that are added to your instance.

If the add-on includes saved reports, they appear in the Reports view. You can also view added inputs from the Data inputs view. The requirements for installing, enabling, and configuring add-ons vary depending on the add-on.

Splunk Light ships with the following add-ons. Depending on the platform you run, one or more of these add-ons are pre-installed.

  • Splunk Add-on for Unix and Linux
  • Splunk Add-on for Microsoft Windows
  • Splunk Add-on for Cisco ASA
  • Splunk Add-on for Cisco FireSIGHT
  • Splunk Add-on for Cisco WSA
  • Splunk Add-on for Cisco ESA
  • Splunk Add-on for Cisco IPS
