On January 31, 2022, Splunk VR will reach its end of life. If you downloaded Splunk VR from the Oculus Quest or Rift Store, the app will disappear from your library on this date. If you downloaded Splunk VR from the Steam store, the app will still be available after this date, but might not function as expected. If you have questions, email splunk-vr@splunk.com.

Register your headset to use Splunk VR

Register your headset to connect the Splunk VR app to a Splunk instance.

Once Splunk VR provides you an authentication code for registration, the code expires in 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, you can no longer register with that code and you must restart the Splunk VR app to generate a new code. After generating the new code, register your device within 15 minutes while the code is still valid.

The Splunk VR app must be running while registering your headset.

Prerequisites

Register your headset

  1. Navigate to the Devices tab in Splunk Secure Gateway.
  2. While wearing your VR headset, launch the Splunk VR app.
  3. If this is your first time using Splunk VR, complete the tutorial.
  4. Press the B or Y button to open the menu.
  5. Select Settings.
  6. Select Advanced.
  7. Select Register new Splunk Instance.
  8. Splunk VR provides an authentication code. Write it down.
  9. Remove your headset.
  10. In Splunk Secure Gateway, enter the authentication code from Splunk VR.
  11. Name your headset.
  12. Enter your Splunk credentials to confirm registration.
  13. Put your headset back on to complete registration.

You can also have a friend enter the authentication code into Splunk Secure Gateway for you while you read the authentication code to them.

Allow or limit access to Splunk VR

After registering your headset, you can limit access to Splunk VR. See Limit access to Splunk VR.
