Troubleshoot Splunk VR

If you're running into issues with Splunk VR, try the following troubleshooting steps.

Unable to view charts, running into error messages, or dashboard list isn't loading

If you're unable to view charts, running into error messages, or if your dashboards list isn't loading in Splunk VR, first check for connection. After confirming that your headset is connected to the internet and Splunk Secure Gateway, try unregistering and registering your device again.

Check for connection

Make sure that your headset is connected to the internet. Also, make sure that your headset can reach Spacebridge, the backend infrastructure that connects your headset to your Splunk platform instance. See Troubleshoot Splunk Secure Gateway connection issues for further troubleshooting steps.

Unregister and register your device again

You may need to reset your device credentials locally.

  1. In the Splunk VR App, press the menu button on your left controller to view the Splunk VR menu.
  2. Select Advanced.
  3. Select Unregister headset.
  4. Register your headset again.

See Register your headset to use Splunk VR to register your headset.

Unable to register headset

To register your headset, Splunk VR must be running while you register in Splunk Secure Gateway.

Once Splunk VR provides you an authentication code for registration, the code expires in 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, you can no longer register with that authentication code.

Make sure Splunk VR is running while registering

After getting an authentication code, remove your headset and do not close Splunk VR. You can view the authentication code on the Splunk VR desktop window without wearing the headset.

Restart Splunk VR

Exit the Splunk VR app and reopen it. This generates a new authentication code. Register your device within 15 minutes while the authentication code is still valid.

See Register your headset to use Splunk VR to register your headset.

Troubleshoot audio in Splunk VR multi-player sessions

If you're experiencing audio issues with multi-player sessions, try the following troubleshooting steps.

Troubleshoot Oculus Rift S multi-player audio

Make sure that both your microphone and your headset input and output settings are set to Oculus Rift S and not Oculus Virtual Device.

Go to Windows > Sound > Choose your output device and Choose your input device and select Oculus Rift S.

Troubleshoot Oculus Quest multi-player audio

The Oculus Quest microphone is less sensitive, so users collaborating in Splunk VR may not hear each other very well.

Turn up the volume on your headset or in the Oculus menu to hear other users more clearly.
