Set up Splunk RUM for Mobile 🔗

Follow these steps to instrument your mobile application and get data into Splunk RUM for Mobile.

Generate your RUM access token in the Observability Cloud 🔗

A RUM token is a public key used only during RUM ingestion. To create the RUM Token you need to be an administrator in Splunk Observability Cloud. For more information, see Create and manage organization access tokens using Splunk Observability Cloud.

Note

RUM access tokens are publicly visible in the client-side code.

Follow these steps to create a RUM access token for your organization.

  1. Log in to Splunk Observability Cloud.

  2. Select the Observability menu.

  3. Select Organization Settings > Access tokens.

  4. Select New Token.

  5. Type a name.

  6. Select the RUM Token checkbox.

  7. Copy the RUM token to your clipboard.

  8. Select Ok.

Check that your data is coming in 🔗

After you instrument your application, check that data is coming in. Follow these steps to check that your data is in your Splunk RUM for Mobile instance.

Prerequisite

To start sending data to Splunk RUM for Mobile, you need to first have user activity on your application.

Steps

  1. Log in to Splunk Observability Cloud.

  2. Click RUM.

  3. From the Source dropdown menu, select Mobile.

  4. Check that you can see your data in the dashboard.
