Troubleshoot the ITSI APM Module

Troubleshoot problems with the add-ons

  1. Verify that the add-ons in your deployment are installed and configured correctly by searching for data in the indexes you specified when you configured the data inputs. See Verify data ingestion.
  2. Verify that the data collection interval configured in the add-on is less than 300 seconds.
  3. Verify that the Splunk Add-on for New Relic and the Splunk Add-on for AppDynamics have global permissions.
  4. If the add-ons are global but ITSI KPIs and dashboards are not populating, make sure the indexes that store data from the add-ons are accessible to the itoa_admin role. See Add new indexes to the ITSI admin role.

Troubleshoot issues with entities and services

Check that any services created using the ITSI APM Module are enabled.

  1. Open the ITSI app on your search head.
  2. Click Configure > Services.
  3. Check that the services that you created using the ITSI APM Module are enabled.

Check that APM entities are imported successfully and mapped to APM module services.

  1. Open the ITSI app on your search head.
  2. Click Configure > Services.
  3. Open or create a service that includes the default APM module KPIs.
  4. Click on the Entities tab and check that entities you expect are listed. If not, then remove rules one by one to check which rule is not being satisfied.
