Collect Linux data 🔗

The Splunk Distribution of OpenTelemetry Collector is a package that provides integrated collection and forwarding for all telemetry types for the Linux platform. You can deploy the Collector to gather telemetry for Splunk Infrastructure Monitoring, Splunk APM, or Splunk Log Observer.

Supported versions 🔗

The Collector supports the following Linux distributions and versions:

  • Amazon Linux: 2

  • CentOS / Red Hat / Oracle: 7, 8, 9

  • Debian: 9, 10, 11

  • Ubuntu: 16.04, 18.04, 20.04, 22.04

Get started 🔗

Splunk Observability Cloud offers a guided setup to install the Collector:

  1. Log in to Splunk Observability Cloud.

  2. Open the Linux guided setup . Optionally, you can navigate to the guided setup on your own:

    1. In the navigation menu, select Data Management, then select + Add Integration to open the Integrate Your Data page.

    2. In the integration filter menu, select All.

    3. Select Linux.

    4. Select Add Connection. The integration guided setup appears.

  3. Follow the steps in the guided setup.
