Add nearby assets as a widget on your iOS device home screen

You can view nearby assets on your home screen on your iOS device using Splunk AR for iOS version 4.0.0 or higher and iOS 14.0 or higher.

Prerequisites

  • Have iOS 14.0
  • Use Splunk AR version 4.0.0 or higher
  • Have assets associated with beacons or geofences.
  • Allow location permissions for Splunk AR

Steps

Add Splunk AR as a widget. See the following documentation from Apple about how to add a widget to your home screen: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207122.

If you allow Splunk AR to know your location at all times, the widgets update continuously. If you allow Splunk AR to know your location only while using the app, the widgets update every time you use the app.
