About the Content Pack for Cisco ThousandEyes

The Content Pack for Cisco ThousandEyes enables you to monitor and troubleshoot Cisco ThousandEyes tests in IT Service Intelligence (ITSI). Use the content pack to create ITSI services and entities from Cisco ThousandEyes tests and monitor them for performance management and service health analysis.

This content pack uses data from Cisco ThousandEyes. It is designed to work with the Cisco ThousandEyes App for Splunk, which configures data collection from Cisco ThousandEyes.

The Content Pack for Cisco ThousandEyes only supports events indexes. It does not currently support metrics indexes.

Content pack features

The Content Pack for Cisco ThousandEyes provides the following features:

• An entity search to discover and create entities based on ingested Cisco ThousandEyes data. You can enable these searches manually or through the guided installation of the content pack.
• An entity type to group entities that have similar data sources and manage entities in bulk.
• Vital metrics that describe the performance of entity types.
• Entity dashboards that enable you to access and monitor data for different entity types.
• Services, which are collections of KPIs and entities that represent Cisco ThousandEyes tests.
• Service templates that provide predefined service properties to create and manage multiple services. Any changes you make to a template are applied to all linked services.
• KPI base searches, which enable you to share a search definition across multiple KPIs to reduce search load and improve search performance.

IT Essentials Work (ITE Work) only supports the following subset of Content Pack for Cisco ThousandEyes features:
