Release notes

Version 4.0.0 of Splunk DB Connect was released on January 1st, 2025.

New and changed features

Version 4.0.0 of Splunk DB Connect contains the following new or changed features:

  • Starting in version 4.0.0, Splunk DB Connect requires Java 17 or higher.
  • High availability support for Heavy Forwarders. See Configure High Availability on top of Heavy Forwarders for more information.
  • Added support for Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) compliant deployments. See Install and configure Splunk DB Connect to be FIPS compliant to enable FIPS.
  • Option to trigger Input and Output manually.
  • Telemetry data collection updated, no sensitive data is collected.
  • Migration logic has been removed. Please make sure to follow the migration path described in Upgrade and downgrade Splunk DB Connect.
  • More options for logging level configuration.
  • Support for adding certificates to KeyStore from UI.
  • Fixes for HEC configuration in Splunk Cloud Platform.
