Splunk Edge Hub release notes

Splunk Edge Hub Software is supported with Victoria and Classic Experience Splunk Cloud Platform and Splunk Enterprise deployments version 9.0 or higher.

What's New

Splunk Edge Hub Software version 1.4.2 now supports the following capabilities:

• Support for devices that use the Modbus protocol. See Configure Splunk Edge Hub Software to communicate with electronic devices using the Modbus protocol to learn how to configure the Splunk Edge Hub Software to use the Modbus protocol.
• Changes are instantly applied to the Splunk Edge Hub Software when modifying the HTTP Event Collector (HEC) and index settings.

Fixed issues

We fixed the following issue in this version:

• The Disk Memory Used (%) metric is not available in the Splunk Edge Hub Performance dashboard.

Known issues

The following are known issues in this version of Splunk Edge Hub Software:

• Splunk Edge Hubs cannot be registered using Splunk Cloud Platform version 9.0.2209.2. Use Splunk Cloud platform version 9.0.2208.4 instead.
• During Advanced Registration, the Splunk Edge Mobile app gives the error, "A server with the specified hostname could not be found."
  • Workaround: Repeat registration steps until you get the message "Continue on the Hub". Complete steps on the Splunk Edge Hub screen.
• When creating topic rules in the Edge Hub Advanced Settings MQTT tab, the page displays an error if you attempt to create a metric, timestamp, or dimension without saving the topic rule first.
• The Splunk Edge Hub sends excess data points for a provided sampling frequency.
