Overview of the glass table editor in ITSI

Create a glass table to visualize and monitor the interrelationships and dependencies across your IT and business services. You can use glass tables to create dynamic contextual views of your IT topology or business processes and monitor them in real time. You can add metrics like KPIs, ad hoc searches, and service health scores that update in real time against a background that you design. Glass tables show real-time data generated by KPIs and services.

A benefit of the glass table editor is that you can directly edit the source definition. The editor has four main components:

Component Description
Data sources Defines the data that powers each visualization
Visualizations Charts, graphs, shapes, icons, and images.
Layout Canvas size, background color or image, and the positioning of visualizations on the canvas.
Inputs Dropdown menus and text input menus.

Create a new glass table

  1. Click Glass Tables from the ITSI main menu.
  2. Click Create Glass Table
  3. Provide a title and optional description. Don't include any special characters in the title.
  4. Click Create.
  5. Click Edit on the glass table to start editing framework.

You can also install the Content Pack for Example Glass Tables to get preconfigured glass tables directly into your ITSI environment. For more information, see About the Content Pack for Example Glass Tables.

Glass table storage

Glass table content is stored in the KV store. The glass table definitions are stored in the itsi_pages collection. Files added to glass tables, such as images, are stored in the sa-itoa_files collection. Visualizations, images, and other items that you add to a glass table are all stored in this collection.
