About the Splunk Add-on for OpenTelemetry Collector

Use the Splunk Add-on for OpenTelemetry Collector to collect traces and metrics for Splunk Observability Cloud.

This document describes two ways to install and configure the Splunk Add-on for OpenTelemetry Collector:

  • Install on multiple hosts using a deployment server.
  • Install directly onto one or several hosts.

You can also choose to install and configure the add-on using a customized or third-party solution, such as Ansible or Terraform. See your third-party software documentation for more information about this method.
