Installation and Configuration Manual

Using the Splunk Enterprise deployment server

The Splunk platform deployment server is a full Splunk instance used to host and deploy apps to different components within the Splunk infrastructure. It is most often used to deploy add-ons to forwarders and indexers for index-time knowledge. The packages included with the Splunk App for PCI Compliance make configuring the deployment server easier.

The Splunk App for PCI Compliance deployment-apps folder contains sample Splunk deployment server configurations that can be used to accelerate deployment of the app. See About deployment server and forwarder management in Updating Splunk Enterprise Instances.
