Version 2.0 of the Splunk Supporting Add-on for Active Directory was released on Wednesday, October 8, 2014.
What's new
Here's what's new in the latest version of the Splunk Supporting Add-on for Active Directory:
- The add-on no longer requires Java to run. (MSAPP-2271)
- The add-on now has a user interface for setup. (MSAPP-967)
- The add-on now has full compatibility with Universal Character Set + Transformation Format—8-bit (UTF-8) character encoding. (MSAPP-1129)
- The add-on now has support for search-head pooling and search head clustering. (MSAPP-2462, MSAPP-3110)
- The add-on now supports field value substitution on all parameters for the
ldapfetch
,ldapfilter
, andldapgroup
commands. (MSAPP-3008)
Current known issues
The Splunk Add-on for Windows has the following known issues:
- The Configuration page does not work properly on some versions of the Chrome browser. As a workaround, use another Splunk-supported browser.
Change log (what's been fixed)
- The add-on now has custom formatters for Security Identifiers (SID), Globally Unique Identifiers (GUID), and security descriptors. (MSAPP-3022)
- The add-on now uses a different logging format with a modified props.conf file. (MSAPP-3018)
