Configure the Splunk Add-on for Windows

  1. On your forwarder, using a text editor, create an inputs.conf in your local directory. Use the inputs.conf in your default directory at %SPLUNK_HOME%\etc\apps\Splunk_TA_Windows\default\inputs.conf as reference for configuring inputs in %SPLUNK_HOME%\etc\apps\Splunk_TA_Windows\default\inputs.conf.
  2. Enable the inputs for which the add-on should collect data by setting the disabled attribute for those input stanzas to 0.
  3. Save the file and close it.
  4. Copy the contents of the Splunk_TA_windows directory to %SPLUNK_HOME%\etc\apps on any other forwarders.
  5. Restart your Splunk platform deployment.
