Splunk App for Edge Hub release notes
The Splunk App for Edge Hub is a web-based companion app that lets you set up and administer your Splunk Edge Hub deployment. To learn more about the Splunk App for Edge Hub features, see About the Splunk App for Edge Hub.
Upgrading to Splunk Edge Hub mobile for iOS version 1.9.2 and Android version 1.10.0 is mandatory. This update aligns with a certificate authority (CA) certificate, ensures functionality, and prevents connection issues.

What's new
The Splunk App for Edge Hub version 4.9.0 has the following new capabilities:
- Configure Splunk Edge Hub devices to use the MQTT protocol from the Splunk App for Edge Hub UI. See Connect to external sensors using the MQTT protocol in the Splunk App for Edge Hub.
- Add an MQTT configuration to device profile. See Create a device profile to learn more.
- View and get use case ideas from template dashboards. You can also use these dashboards to create your own using Dashboard studio. See View Splunk Edge Hub template dashboards.
- The Sensor configuration page shows the Category that additionally categorizes metrics by the source of the metrics.
This version of the Splunk app for Edge Hub supports the updates available in the Splunk Edge Hub mobile app and Splunk Edge Hub OS. See the following release notes to learn more:
Upgrading to Splunk Edge Hub version 1.3.2 and the Splunk App for Edge Hub version 4.2.1 or higher
Upgrading to Splunk Edge Hub version 1.3.2 and the Splunk App for Edge Hub version 4.2.1 or higher resets configurations stored in KVStore. After upgrading, make sure to configure the Splunk Edge Hub indexes and HEC token. Check the index names and make sure they match the default ones listed in Create indexes for Splunk Edge Hub.
