Hardware and software requirements for the Splunk Add-on for ISC BIND

ISC BIND requirements

You must have access to the ISC BIND server so that you can configure the logs. The Splunk Add-on for ISC BIND monitors the log files generated by the ISC BIND server.

Forwarder requirements

You must install a universal forwarder onto the ISC BIND server to monitor the logs locally and forward them on to your Splunk platform deployment.

Splunk platform requirements

Because this add-on runs on the Splunk platform, all of the system requirements apply for the Splunk software that you use to run this add-on.
