Release notes for the Content Pack for Amazon Web Services Dashboards and Reports

Version 1.3.0 of the Content Pack for Amazon Web Services Dashboards and Reports was released on November 30, 2022 as part of version 1.8.0 of the Splunk App for Content Packs.

New features

Version 1.3.0 of the Content Pack for Amazon Web Services Dashboards and Reports includes the following new features:

New feature or enhancement Description
Support of the aws:metadata source type The content pack now supports the aws:metadata source type. The dashboards and other knowledge objects will no longer support aws:description source type.

Known issues

2022-12-20 ITSI-27745 [AWS Content Pack] Entity Type Dashboards do not populate when opened from entity detail page.


Workaround:

  1. Go to Configurations > Entity management
  2. Navigate to the Entity Types tab
  3. At EC2 Instance entity type, select Edit > Edit.
  4. In the pop up, open row expansion for Splunk Dashboards.
  5. Click on Edit under Reference Name - EC2 Instance Overview - AWS
  6. Select Entity Field region for value form.region and click on Save (just below the left side of the table).
  7. Click on Save (green button on the right side).

Perform similar steps for required (EBS Volume, ELB Instance or Lambda Functions) Entity Type.
