Splunk Edge Hub release notes

Thank you for your interest in the beta release of the Splunk Edge Hub . You can collect sensor data and stream it into a Splunk Cloud instance. To get started, see the following documentation:

Splunk Edge Hub is supported with Victoria and Classic Experience Splunk Cloud Platform and Splunk Enterprise deployments version 9.0 or higher.

What's New

Splunk Edge Hub version 1.3 has the following are new updates:

• You're now required to create your own indexes when setting up your Splunk Edge Hub. See Create indexes for Splunk Edge Hub.
• You can now connect your Splunk Edge Hub to an OPC server. See Configure Splunk Edge Hub to connect to an OPC server.
• You can now configure HTTPS for the Splunk Edge Hub advanced configuration server. See Configure HTTPS for the advanced configuration server.
• You can now configure your Splunk Edge Hub to use HEC over HTTPS for Splunk Enterprise. See Configure the Edge Hub to use HEC over HTTPS for Splunk Enterprise.
• The Splunk App for Edge Hub and AR version 4.2.0 includes steps for entering the token name and indexes that you created during setup. See Configure the HTTP Event Collector (HEC) endpoint that your Hub will push events to in the "Register or unregister your Splunk Edge Hub" topic.
• You can enable sample alerts for notifications when an anomaly occurs with your Splunk Edge Hub metrics. See Set up anomaly alerts for Splunk Edge Hub to learn how.

Known issue

The following are known issues in this version of Splunk Edge Hub:

• Splunk Edge Hubs cannot be registered using Splunk Cloud Platform version 9.0.2209.2. Use Splunk Cloud platform version 9.0.2208.4 instead.
• The Disk Memory Used (%) metric is not available in the Splunk Edge Hub Performance dashboard.
• The OPC-UA data streamer sends data to the edge_hub_logs index instead of the edge_hub_opcua index.
