Release Notes for the Splunk Add-on for Microsoft Exchange Indexes

Version 4.0.3 is the first release of Splunk Add-on for Microsoft Exchange Indexes, and it was released on July 27, 2021.

Note: The Splunk Add-on for Microsoft Exchange version 4.0.2 and below included the package present in this add-on ("SA-ExchangeIndex"). The package is being released as an individual Splunkbase app in order to make the Splunk Add-on for Microsoft Exchange and its dependent add-ons SSAI-compatible.

What's new

These features apply to Splunk Add-on for Microsoft Exchange Indexes v4.0.3. For compatibility information, see Data collection planning and requirements in this manual.

New feature or enhancement	Description
Index definition	The package contains the definition of the indexes that are required for the ingestion of the data collected by Splunk Add-on for Microsoft Exchange. Therefore, this add-on is essential for the Splunk Add-on for Microsoft Exchange.
SSAI-compatibility for the Cloud environments	If you're using the Splunk Add-on for Microsoft Exchange on a cloud environment, see Installation and configuration overview for the Splunk Add-on for Microsoft Exchange Indexes. Since the add-on package was previously part of the Splunk Add-on for Microsoft Exchange (for version 4.0.2 or below), existing customers of the Splunk Add-on for Microsoft Exchange need to switch to the new version. For more information, see Upgrade from Splunk Add-on for VMware Metrics version 4.2.0 to version 4.2.1.
