Splunk® ODBC Driver

Install and Use Splunk ODBC Driver

This documentation does not apply to the most recent version of Splunk® ODBC Driver. For documentation on the most recent version, go to the latest release.

Release Notes

The Splunk ODBC Driver is a separate download that lets you connect an ODBC-enabled third-party app (such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau, and so on) to Splunk Enterprise. You can then construct Structured Query Language (SQL) queries to interact with your Splunk Enterprise server directly from your app.

Known issues

The Splunk ODBC Driver version 1.0.1 has the following known limitations:

  • Only limited SQL-to-SPL (Splunk search language) translation capability
  • Using multiple or joined tables is not supported
  • Reports (saved searches in Splunk Enterprise 5) that have underscores in their names are not supported; you will receive a “Saved search not found" error. Remove underscores from the names of any reports you want to use with the Splunk ODBC Driver.
