Set Up Splunk OT Intelligence

Configure multiple Splunk Edge Hub devices using device profiles

You can create device profiles and apply the configuration to multiple devices using the Splunk App for Edge Hub.

Prerequisites and requirements

This feature requires Splunk OT Intelligence version 4.7.1 or higher.

Complete the steps at Installation and configuration overview for Splunk Edge Hub OS and register each of your Splunk Edge Hub devices.

Create a device profile

In the Splunk App for Edge Hub version 4.9.0, you can configure sensor settings and MQTT configuration in a device profile.

  1. In the Splunk App for Edge Hub, navigate to the Edge Hub Settings page.
  2. Select the Device Profiles tab.
  3. Select + New Profile.
  4. Configure sensors or an MQTT configuration for the profile:
    1. Select and configure the sensors you want to configure for this profile.
    2. Select MQTT Configuration to add a new topic or select Spec to upload an existing configuration.
  5. Select Save.
  6. Enter a name for the profile.
  7. (Optional) Enter a description for the profile.
  8. Select Save. The profile appears in the Device Profiles tab.

Edit a device profile

  1. In the Splunk App for Edge Hub, navigate to the Edge Hub Settings page.
  2. Select the Device Profiles tab.
  3. Select a device profile.
  4. Select Open.
  5. Edit the profile.
  6. Select Save.
  7. Enter a name for the profile.
  8. (Optional) Enter a description for the profile.
  9. Select Save. The profile appears in the Device Profiles tab.

Apply a profile to Splunk Edge Hub devices

  1. In the Splunk App for Edge Hub, navigate to the Edge Hub Settings page.
  2. Select the Device Profiles tab.
  3. Select a device profile.
  4. Select Apply to Devices
  5. Select the devices you want to apply the profile to.
  6. Select Apply.
