What is new in Splunk OVA for VMware

Version 4.0.3 of the Splunk OVA for VMware was released on July 22, 2021.

This release has the following updates:

Update Description
Splunk Add-on for VMware The OVA contains packages of Splunk Add-on for VMware version 4.0.3. The add-on now uses jQuery version 3.5.0 in Splunk Enterprise version 8.2 or higher. This makes the Add-on more secure by fixing known cross-site scripting (XSS) related vulnerabilities as well as vulnerabilities created by object prototype pollution.

The below packages that were part of Splunk Add-on for VMware version 4.0.2 or below are no longer part of the Splunk Add-on for VMware package. They are now published as individual Splunkbase apps in to make the add-on self-service installable in cloud environments.

  • Splunk_TA_esxilogs
  • Splunk_TA_vcenter
  • SA-VMWIndex
  • TA-VMW-FieldExtractions
Splunk Enterprise version 8.2.1 The OVA contains Splunk Enterprise version 8.2.1. For more specifications about OVA's specifications, see Requirements for Splunk OVA for VMware.
