Splunk Analytics for Hadoop

Ensure compatibility with Splunk Enterprise and Hadoop

Splunk Analytics for Hadoop reaches End of Life on January 31, 2025.

Many Splunk Anaytics for Hadoop features require communication between various aspects of third-party databases, Splunk Analytics for Hadoop, and Splunk Enterprise. To make it easier to configure these features as you need them, we recommend that you install or configure everything with the same user names and credentials:

  • Splunk Enterprise/Splunk Analytics for Hadoop
  • HDFS nodes, if applicable
  • S3 or other database applications

If you plan to search or archive data from Splunk Enterprise, you should also install and/or configure these same user names on the following:

  • Splunk Enterprise
  • Splunk Indexes
