Add AWS CloudTrail data: Splunk Cloud

Install the Splunk Add-on for AWS

Use the following tasks to install the Splunk Add-on for AWS onto your Splunk platform deployment.

Install on your Splunk Cloud deployment

Install the add-on in a Splunk Cloud deployment as follows:

  1. In the Splunk Web Home page, click the gear icon next to Apps.
  2. Click Install Apps.
  3. Select Install.
    If the app is not listed, or if the add-on indicates self-service installation is not supported, contact Splunk Support.
  4. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.

    When you install an app with declared dependencies, Splunk Cloud automatically resolves its dependencies through Splunkbase. To learn more about declaring dependencies, see the Splunk Packaging Toolkit.

Install on your heavy forwarders

  1. Download the add-on from Splunkbase.
  2. Extract the add-on.
  3. Place the resulting Splunk_TA_<add-on_name> folder in the $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps directory on your heavy forwarder.
  4. Restart the heavy forwarder using the command splunk restart.
