Configure the Splunk Add-on for Windows to collect data

  1. On your forwarder, using a text editor, open inputs.conf in your local directory at %SPLUNK_HOME%\etc\apps\Splunk_TA_Windows\local\inputs.conf. Create inputs.conf in your local directory if it does not exist.
  2. Enable the inputs for which the add-on should collect data by setting the disabled attribute for those input stanzas to 0.
  3. Save the file and close it.
  4. Copy the contents of the Splunk_TA_windows directory to %SPLUNK_HOME%\etc\apps on any other forwarders.
  5. Restart your Splunk platform deployment.
