Manage the Splunk Product Guidance app on your Splunk Cloud Platform deployment
Splunk Product Guidance (SPG) is an application that augments your current Splunk Cloud Platform deployment with contextually appropriate guidance for numerous use cases and tasks.
Your Splunk Cloud Platform users can review targeted guidance on using specific data sources and running searches for various Splunk Security, Splunk IT, and Splunk Observability use cases. SPG lets Splunk Cloud Platform users of any role and expertise level access content hosted on Splunk Lantern while staying within the Splunk Web experience.
SPG in Splunk Cloud Platform
SPG is available on versions 8.2.2109 and higher as one of the default apps in the Splunk Cloud Platform.
SPG is only available on Splunk Cloud Platform deployments that don't use a premium app like Splunk Enterprise Security or Splunk IT Service Intelligence. For more information about the premium app solution subscriptions, see Splunk premium solutions in the Splunk Cloud Platform Service Description.
When the SPG app is enabled, your users see the SPG widget on the following pages in Splunk Web:
- Search page of any app
- Add data, located in the left panel in Settings
- Source Types, located in the DATA category in Settings
