Installation Guide

On August 31, 2022, the Splunk App for VMware will reach its end of life. After this date, Splunk will no longer maintain or develop this product. The functionality in this app is migrating to a content pack in Data Integrations. Learn about the Content Pack for VMware Dashboards and Reports.

Prepare Splunk App for NetApp Data ONTAP

Splunk App for NetApp Data ONTAP and Splunk App for VMware share the Distributed Collection Scheduler to manage data collection tasks, SA-Hydra and SA-Utils.

If you do not have the Splunk App for NetApp Data ONTAP installed in your environment, skip this step and proceed to download and install the Splunk App for VMware.

Splunk App for NetApp 2.0.x or earlier

If you have Splunk App for NetApp Data ONTAP version 2.0.x or earlier installed in your test environment, upgrade the NetApp app's Data Collection Node with SA-Hydra 4.0.2 and SA-Utils 3.7.0, which are bundled with the Splunk Add-on for VMware.
