Splunk App for VMware 4.0.2 release notes
Version 4.0.2 of the Splunk App for VMware was released on January 13, 2021.
What's New
Version 4.0.2 of Splunk App for VMware doesn't contain biased terms such as master, slave, blacklist, and whitelist. These terms have been replaced with appropriate non-biased terms. The occurrences of biased terms that are Splunk platform references or present in the third-party library have not been removed.
Version 4.0.2 of Splunk App for VMware has the following changes in the SA-VMNetAppUtils package: If you are using per_panel_filter, ppf_subsearch, ppf_subsearch_dm, and per_panel_filter_lookup macros of the SA-VMNetAppUtils package in your custom dashboard or in the saved searches, then you must update the value of the filter field in the lookup file which you are using with these macros. All static variables values for ppf_lookup_type, ppf_filter have been updated from blacklist to denylist and from whitelist to allowlist.
In version 4.0.1, the name of the "utils" directory of the app package has been updated to "vmware_utils" to avoid import conflict with the Splunk Cloud Administration app in the Splunk Cloud environment.
Version 4.0.0 of Splunk App for VMware provides Python 3 support in Splunk Enterprise. All advanced XML dashboards have been migrated to use React JS.
The acceleration of the data models "VMwareInventory" and "VMwarePerformance" is disabled by default. Enable acceleration for these data models to populate the data on the few dashboards of App. See Enable Data model acceleration and use data models to learn how to enable data model acceleration.
