Update Splunk Edge Hub OS online

With online updates, you can do the following:

• Get notifications when there's a new Splunk Edge Hub OS firmware version available.
• Update your device from the Splunk Edge Hub mobile app or the device itself.

This feature is turned off by default. Turn on the feature before performing online updates.

Requirements and prerequisites

This feature requires The Splunk Edge Hub OS version 1.6.0 or higher and the Splunk App for Edge Hub and AR version 1.6.0 or higher.

Update from Splunk Edge Hub device

If an update is available, the settings icon on your Splunk Edge Hub device displays a red dot. To update your Splunk Edge Hub device from the device itself, complete these steps:

1. In the Splunk Edge Hub device, navigate to the Settings section.
2. Select Update.
3. Agree to the Splunk General Terms. The device begins updating.

Update from Splunk Edge Hub mobile app

To update your Splunk Edge Hub device from the Splunk Edge Hub mobile app, complete these steps:

1. In the Splunk Edge Hub mobile app, select the Splunk Edge Hub device you want to update. If an update is available, the app displays an Edge Hub Update Available notice.
2. Select Update. A web browser opens to present the Splunk General Terms.
3. Select Accept. The app makes a request to update the Splunk Edge Hub device and displays an Update in progress message.
