Create and edit dashboard slideshows

You can create slideshows of dashboards and display them in a slideshow using Splunk TV.

If you're using Splunk Secure Gateway, install the Splunk App for TV from Splunkbase. The Splunk App for TV is required for creating dashboard slideshows if you're using Splunk Secure Gateway.

Prerequisites

• An admin has installed the Splunk App for TV on the Splunk platform instance you're logged into. See Install the Splunk App for TV in the Install and Use the Splunk App for TV manual.
• Log into a Splunk platform instance.
• Have compatible dashboards in Splunk Enterprise. See Visualization support for Connected Experiences apps
• An admin has selected dashboards to be visible in the Splunk TV app. See Choose which Splunk apps to show dashboards from in the mobile apps in the Administer Splunk Secure Gateway manual.

Create a dashboard slideshow

1. On the homepage, select the + button.
2. Select the dashboards you want to include in the slideshow.
   You can add up to 10 dashboards per slideshow. To deselect a dashboard, select it again.
   
3. Select Next.
4. Arrange the order of the dashboards.
   1. Select a dashboard and swipe to reorder it. Long press a dashboard to remove it from the slideshow.
   2. Press the select button again when you're done reordering.
5. Select Next.
6. Name the slideshow.
7. Select Done.
8. Select Done.
   The slideshow is now under slideshows on the homepage.
   

From the homepage, select a slideshow to view it. Each dashboard displays for 30 seconds, and then rotates to the next dashboard in the slideshow. You can adjust the display time in settings.

Dashboard slideshows are saved to the server per user. When you unregister a TV, dashboard slideshows that you created on that TV persist on other TVs that you registered.

Edit a dashboard slideshow

Refer to the following table to delete or edit a dashboard slideshow:

Action	Steps
Delete a slideshow	From the homepage, long press the dashboard slideshow. Select Delete. Select Save changes.
Add a dashboard to a slideshow	From the homepage, long press the dashboard slideshow. Select Edit. Select which dashboards you want to include in the slideshow. Select Next. Select Save changes.
Remove a dashboard from a slideshow	From the homepage, long press the dashboard slideshow. Select Edit. Deselect a dashboard by selecting it again. Select Next. Select Save changes.
Reorder dashboards in a slideshow	From the homepage, long press the dashboard slideshow. Select Edit. Select View Slideshow. Select a dashboard. Swipe to reorder the dashboard. After you reorder the dashboard, select the dashboard again. Select OK. Select Next. Select Save Changes.
