Create and use geofences with Splunk AR
Associate non-AR dashboards with a GPS-defined location using Splunk AR. Splunk AR presents these dashboards to users when they're located within the GPS-defined location.

Geofences and associated dashboards are shared among Splunk AR users using the same Splunk Enterprise deployment.
Prerequisites
Before creating a geofence and associating dashboards to the geofenced area, make sure the following requirements are complete:
- Install Splunk Cloud Gateway on your Splunk Enterprise search head.
- Enable Splunk AR in the Configure tab of Splunk Cloud Gateway.
- You have the appropriate user permissions.
- Register your device.
- Have saved compatible dashboards on Splunk Enterprise. For more information on creating dashboards, see Create dashboards and panels.

Create a geofence
Create a geofence on a GPS map to make dashboards available to Splunk AR users physically located within a GPS-defined location.
- In the Splunk AR app, tap the three dots icon.
- Tap Nearby Dashboards.
- Next to geofences, tap the plus sign.
- Drag the geofence or map to position. Pinch or expand to scale.
- Tap the arrow to continue.
- Enter a geofence name.
- Select the dashboards you want to associate the geofenced location with.
- Tap the save icon.
Up to 20 nearby geofences appear on the Nearby Dashboards screen.

- Enter a geofence that's been configured in Splunk AR.
- In the Splunk AR app, tap the three dots icon.
- Tap Nearby Dashboards.
This displays a list of geofences. - Tap a geofence to see its associated dashboards.
