Release Notes

On July 15, 2022, the Splunk App for AWS will reach its end of life (EOL). After this date, Splunk will no longer maintain or develop this product. Splunk App for AWS is used for both IT monitoring and security use cases because it provides dashboards for both ITOps and security teams. The IT monitoring functionality in Splunk App for AWS is migrating to a content pack in Data Integrations called the Content Pack for Amazon Web Services Dashboards and Reports. The security use case functionality in Splunk App for AWS is migrating to the new Splunk App for AWS Security Dashboards. For more about migration options, see this community post.

Fixed issues for the Splunk App for AWS

2015-12-03 AWSAPP-374 Config: Topology Data Generator report can take more than ten minutes to run for very complex AWS environments.

2015-11-19 AWSAPP-363 / SPL-88923 Due to bug in search head clustering, summary data created by tscollect is not synced between SHC members.
2015-11-12 AWSAPP-413 / ADDON-6001 Instances in some regions are not available in Individual EC2 Instance dashboard.
2015-11-12 AWSAPP-312 Clicking on a panel that drills down into another dashboard does not carry region filter information applied in original dashboard. User has to re-apply the region filters on the destination dashboard.
2015-11-09 AWSAPP-361 On the Topology dashboard, user can drag a selection out of the Overview box, making it hard to get back to the topology instances without selecting a node on the left panel.
2015-11-07 AWSAPP-442 Topology view should show friendly name for security group, using 'groupName' or 'Name' tag.
2015-11-05 AWSAPP-414 CloudWatch billing only supports the us-east-1 region, but the configuration UI allows you to select all regions for this service.
2015-10-29 AWSAPP-324 App takes a long time to load the Edit Input screen for an existing CloudWatch input.
2015-10-29 AWSAPP-389 Billing dashboard can show wrong month if the time zone of the user profile is ahead of the timezone of the user's Splunk instance.
