Known issues
Version 1.2.0 of the Splunk Add-on for Kafka has the following known issues.
Date | Issue number | Description |
---|---|---|
2016-10-27 | ADDON-11806 | This add-on only supports Unix and Linux platform, but not Windows platform. |
2016-03-10 | ADDON-8242 | Centralized configuration of forwarders is not fault tolerant. |
2016-02-24 | ADDON-7959 | After removing a forwarder on setup page, the broker information and data inputs dispatched on the forwarder are still shown. |
2016-02-22 | ADDON-7899 | Setup GUI does not truncate or wrap long strings, causing display errors. |
2016-01-30 | ADDON-7646 | FIPS mode is not supported by this add-on. For a workaround, see Add-ons and FIPS mode in the Splunk Add-ons manual. |
2016-01-25 | ADDON-7570 | GUI for editing an already configured Kafka Cluster on the Setup page saves your edits even if you click cancel. |
2016-01-13 | ADDON-5325 | requireClientCert=true in server.conf is not supported by add-ons using modular inputs and REST. If this setting is enabled in server.conf , communication is broken between the modular input and splunkd and the add-on stops collecting data. The following error appears in the splunkd.log : "SSL3_GET_CLIENT_CERTIFICATE:peer did not return a certificate." The workaround is to set requireClientCert=false .
|
2016-01-11 | ADDON-7398 | When setup page changes are saved, add-on should check for topic duplication. |
2015-12-30 | ADDON-7252 | Not able to save setup page update if cursor is in blank index field and the user hits Enter to save. |
2015-09-29 | ADDON-5818 | If managing modular input configuration centrally from a search head cluster node, forwarders sometimes disappear from the list of forwarders, after saving successfully. Workaround: wait at least five seconds to allow the setup page to fully load before attempting any configuration. Wait at least three seconds after saving each cluster or forwarder configuration. |
2015-09-23 | ADDON-5757 | Invalid forwarders accept data collection tasks from centralized modular input configuration, even if they cannot handle them, causing those collection tasks to fail with an error. |
