Hardware and software requirements for the Splunk Add-on for Jira Data Center
You must have administrative access to your Jira Data Center server so that you can configure it to enable the Splunk data on your forwarder.
To improve the performance of the Splunk universal forwarder when monitoring a directory hierarchy that contains older files, limit the number of files monitored by Splunk based on time. Files might be skipped if there is an issue with the data feed that lasts longer than the time you specify.
Ignore older log files by enabling the ignoreOlderThan = <non-negative integer>[s|m|h|d]
parameter in default/inputs.conf
.
It can be configured and correlated with the default Jira Data Center logs rotation.

Splunk platform requirements
Because this add-on runs on the Splunk platform, all of the system requirements apply for the Splunk software that you use to run this add-on.
- For Splunk Enterprise system requirements: see System Requirements in the Splunk Enterprise Installation Manual.
- If you are managing on-premises forwarders to get data into Splunk Cloud, see System Requirements in the Splunk Enterprise Installation Manual, which includes information about forwarders.
