Release notes for the Splunk Add-on for Jira Data Center

Version 1.0.1 of the Splunk Add-on for Jira Data Center was released on April 2022. It is compatible with the following software, CIM versions, and platforms:

This version was built and tested for one node installation with default settings:

The field alias functionality is compatible with the current version of this add-on. The current version of this add-on does not support older field alias configurations.

New features

Version 1.0.1 of the Splunk Add-on for Jira Data Center has the following new features:

• Collects log files from standard Jira installation and home directories (https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/useful-log-files-in-jira-1027120387.html, https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/audit-log-integrations-in-jira-998879037.html )
• Creates sourcetypes for events coming from specific sources. Pretrained sourcetypes are applied to events coming from other sources:
  • jira:datacenter:log for /var/atlassian/application-data/jira/log/atlassian-jira.log
  • jira:datacenter:security:log for /var/atlassian/application-data/jira/log/atlassian-jira-security.log
  • jira:datacenter:audit:log for /var/atlassian/application-data/jira/log/audit/*.log
• Creates eventtypes for relevant sourcetypes (action values are also taken into account):
  • jira_datacenter_auditing_changes for jira:datacenter:audit:log
  • jira_datacenter_default_authentication for jira:datacenter:security:log
  • jira_datacenter_account_management for jira:datacenter:security:log and jira:datacenter:audit:log
  • jira_datacenter_all_changes for other alljira:datacenter:* sourcetypes
• Tags events by eventtypes:
  • change tag for jira_datacenter_auditing_changes, jira_datacenter_account_management and jira_datacenter_all_changes
  • audit tag for jira_datacenter_auditing_changes
  • account for jira_datacenter_account_management
  • authentication for jira_datacenter_default_authentication

Fixed issues

Version 1.0.1 of the Splunk Add-on for Jira Data Center contains no fixed issues.
